Magnatune

I am not sure if I already wrote about this but here it goes.
There is a music site called Magnatune (www.magnatune.com) that is base on the Open source idea. You can download the music in full quality, listen to it, share it with your friends, and the music that you like you can pay for it. The artist gets 50% of what you pay and Magnatune gets the other 50%. If you are an artist you can sample it, make a cover of it, etc and you don't pay royalties for that. You only pay a royalty if you use the original track and sell it as is. There are so many things here that big labels don't even think about that it is truly inspiring. I hope this little experiment succedes. It is definitively a positive alternative to the traditional labels mentality of "let's rip the artist off and make lots of money while we are at it". Go Magnatune!

The music is really good. Not your regular radio music, that's for sure. Not a huge collection but really Hight quality stuff. Check it out: www.magnatune.com .
